Our Aims
The oral tradition of storytelling is the best communication available to us, it is face to face. It offers a key to a deep appreciation of what it means to be human.
Our aim is to encourage the art of oral storytelling in general and in particular to revive the lost art of oral biblical storytelling.
We do this against a backdrop of music, art, and poetry, in an atmosphere of respect, conviviality, and community. The ethos of sharing and hospitality is at the heart of what we do.
Who Are We?
The Credo Storytellers are a group of performing artists working in the fields of television, film, poetry, theatre and education. As artists we are excited by the revival of the oral tradition of storytelling. We are attracted by its simplicity of form, the inspirational release it brings to the imagination, its capacity to deal with universal themes and complexities of the heart.
What we do.
We offer training, workshops, and performances in storytelling. We work with all age groups and in all genres, be it Bible stories, fairy stories. myths, legends, personal storytelling, slam story storytelling.
We have worked in schools, prisons, community centers, churches, pubs, small theatres, campsites and festivals.
We also specialise in training for those interested in Biblical storytelling.
